Just to let everyone know, Mr Erik Box is competing in this weekends UCI race in France

He will also be competing in next weekends UCI race too.....

Cross season here runs until Mid-January so we are still at it and still getting muddy. Really muddy. Willow beach on a crap day kind of muddy and that is just practice.

I would like to send out an invite to all those interested in going to the NBX G.P. of Cross/Verge Finale in Warwick, Rhode Island Dec 5-6. The plan is to leave early Friday morning, go straight to the race course to pre-ride, race on Saturday and Sunday then head home right after the men’s elite race on Sunday. For those in the Kingston-Ottawa region, I plan to cross the border at Gananoque and can make arrangements to meet you en route.

What is included on the trip:

This weekend was round 2 of the Irish Super-Cross Cup.  This race was in Dublin, so no long trip to Northern Ireland for me this time.  Instead a sedate 15K peddle across town.

The plan is to leave early Friday morning, go straight to the race course to pre-ride, race on Saturday and Sunday then head home right after the men’s elite race on Sunday. What is included on the trip:

As some of you know I am spending the year in Ireland for work purposes.  I am on a sabbatical from York University to do a research project with faculty at University College Dublin- which means we are living and working just south of Dublin city centre.  The key thing to this job is that it gives me lots of flexibility, which means lots of time for non-work adventures on the cross-bike.

Awesome day for a cross race. conditions @ 10am were Sunny , -5 c ,light winds and hard snow covered grass with occational icy patchs right at the apex.

Had a great start from inside row 4, got to the front just intime to see robert orange and another rider tangle in the first corner. Sorry to see robert go down.

Rode with a group of three riders for most of the race. they would gap me on the long power sections and I would catch back up in the tecnicial decents and climbs/run-ups section.
