Aussi disponible en français As Cyclo-cross is not an Olympic sport, the Canadian Cycling Association doesn't provide any funding for the National Cyclo-cross Team, meaning riders must cover their own airfare, accommodations, meals, equipment expenses and even their national team jerseys. We have seen the commitment that it has taken for these riders to qualify and get there and we want to help them along by taking some of the financial burden off of their shoulders, allowing them to focus on their racing and representing Canada at Cross Worlds in Hoogerheide. Wendy Simms, Natasha Elliott, Derrick St John, Aaron Schooler, Brian Robinson, Andrew Thomas, Kyle Fry and Pepper Harlton make up the team for what will be a tough race in Hoogerheide.

Thanks to your generous support, the Friends of Canadian Cyclocross Racers in raised over $4000 of support for the National CX team's project for 2006/7 and 2007/8 Worlds

Midweek Cycling club and CXO put together a race in December with over $2100 collected towards this cause.

As last year, we hope that a major sponsor will come forward and contact the CCA directly in support of the National Team. Funds can be directed to specific projects and we believe that the CX team project is as important as others. And as per last year, you can also contact the CCA directly to make a contribution.

For those who contributed last year and submitted an address for a tax receipt - the CCA will be sending a tax receipt with their year end mailings, likely in January. We apologize for the delay, but it is out of our hands. We can again provide a tax receipt this year, but it will be for the 2009 tax year and will be mailed with the year end for that year.

The 08/09 World Championships are in Hoogerheide Netherlands on January 31/Feb 1st, 2009.
