How about
"he's a mudder, his father was a mudder, his mother was mudder" / Quoting Kramer from Seineld
" Is that a mask of pain OR a mask of Shame?"
" nice legs, shame about your race"
" here's mud in yer eye"
" Head up, rubber side down, thats how we play this game!"
I have always been a fan of the Rick original

Whoa....kind of defensive huh?
Firstly I have no interest in being an M.C. at Cross races but that doesn't in any way mean that I don't know what's involved. I have had the opportunity to do this at races in the past and don't envy the job. In fact I have commended you in the past for the job you do.
That being said your assumption that you are the only one who is capable or that if you don't do it, no-one else will, is a bit misguided. As this is a public forum AND rider's entry fee's indirectly pay your fee gives me the right to my opinion on the matter. I do believe that an M.C. is a great thing to have and didn't suggest otherwise in my post. I also believe that $300 is a little exorbitant for talking into a mic for several hours and in my conversation with others who have a vested interest in racing, the vast majority seem to agree. My bad for being naive enough to think maybe you did it out of a spirit of wanting to contribute and not for the financial renumeration.
I didn't comment to start a pi$$ing match with you but to comment on my OPINION that $50-60 an hour to M.C. is a little steep. If you think this is a fair price and organizers are willing to pay you this to M.C....all the power to you. I also have the right to explore other options for this valuable service and for the record have secured an experienced race announcer, with his own P.A. equipment that he will set-up and tear down, to do our event for us that is substantially more economical than your requested fee. No harm...no foul.
Regards, Keith MacDonald.
There is no reason to insult someone like that Rick. Are we going to have to put your comments in the fruitloop category like they do on Canadian Cyclist?
Firstly I suppose whether or not I am a loser is in the eye of the beholder. You and others you have talked to think so?..that is your right. I feel no need to try and change anyones mind on that one.
I had no idea that ACTRA fees and minimums were required to M.C. a Cross event seeing as these are not Television, Radio or Film. Perhaps I was wrong on that and if so my apologies..I suspect however that this is not the case.
Lastly I don't need to resort to baseless, slanderous insults to get my point across. If you are suggesting I am somehow involved in any illegal endeavor is not only wrong but shows your contempt for anyone who doesn't share your viewpoint. Perhaps you should get a better idea of who you are talking about before losing your shit in such an embarrassing and petulant fashion.

Whatever, you step up then!
I guess whoever you are has no idea what it takes!
Any different words are good but I guess all we do is put a mic out with no one and go back to the old slient method.
Whats next Black and White kits only.
Whoa....kind of defensive
Do what ever you want. I
Do what ever you want. I could care less.
I have been warned that you are a total loser.
You have no idea that 300 is a mininum fee that Actra demands.
Go back to selling drugs!
There is no reason to insult

Thanks Dave you are right
Thanks Dave you are right Sorry
If you want to be a proper MC for events you have certain things you need to.
One is charge a minimum of $300.00 or get no other jobs.
There is a standard that has to be set.
I get about $2000.00 for the season from Midweek in various ways.
