Martin Goodman Winter Maintenance Survey

Not sure how many used the MG trail this winter for getting around, but I for one found it fantastic, even with all that salt, to have an open stretch in the city. I think it even got Rick on TV. I don't know if a positive survey will ensure we get the same deal next year, but it can't hurt. kevin Transportation Services maintained the Martin Goodman Trail in wintertime from the north side of Northern Dancer Blvd to Sherbourne Street and Stadium Road to Windermere Avenue from January 2009 onwards, for the first time. There was a number of us riders the whole season. Including a woman who rides a proper bike with a basket on the front. I made a few friends from Oakville that do this all year as well. Two rides,once at night and once the following morning, I had to stop and get off the bike to walk a couple of short sections due to blown over knee deep snow. After years of riding Queensway to King St., the clean path was a relief. You only get so many near misses before a car/truck takes you out. Getting out of traffic is safer for everyone.
