How often should tubulars be glued/reglued?

I am new to tubulars for cross, how often do you re-glue them? Is there a recommended time or is it on as needed basis? Also, what are the thoughts on tubular glue tape vs regular glue?

You really need to check the glue joint after each race, especially in wet and muddy conditions. Let all the air out and gently try to push the tire off. Usually they start to peel off around the valve. There's no set time for re-gluing, but a tire stuck on great at the start of an hour race can be coming off by the end, so you have to do the checking every time.
Ise the mastic glue in a big can or conti and aply a fair bit of it. I'm not a fan of the tape and glue method because it makes such a mess of the rim when you peel the tire back off and eventually it all has to be stripped off.
Avoid the fast tack glue for cross or tape by itself. You need to seal the tire out to the edge, unlike on a road bike.
