Hey has anyone had any experience with TRP cantilever brakes ? They seem to have great reviews. I am looking to upgrade with either the Eurox or the carbon 950's.
The EuroX carbon, magnesium and alloy are a great set of cantilever brakes. The CR950s are decent also. Tim Johnson runs the 950s and the other two on his team run the mag EuroXs. So both sets are clearly pretty decent.
Main issue, if you cheap out and get the alloy EuroXs or get the CR950s, you don't get TRPs adjustable brake pad holders. They will charge you another $130 for these holders and pads. The 950s, i believe do have a slight bit of toe-in adjustment and a longer pad length (closer to mtb pads).
I personally don't have any experience with either. I run spooky's which are close to the alloy EuroX's in design and love them. Pretty strong for a canti brake.
I can't say enough great things about the EuroX. Definitely the best canti brake I've used.
Further to pete's comments, if you need to toe-in the shoes that come with the alloy version you can bend the post manually in a vice (thanks Jeff).
I believe the 2010 models are all shipping with the adjustable toe-in, even the base model alloy EuroX (though this may come with a slight price increase over 09 as well). In any case, as Nick said, there's absolutely no performance issue with just bending the post on the pad holder to get the toe-in.
Remember salt and magnesium do not mix. If you want to ride or train on the road, I wouldn't pick the magnesium. I run the Carbons and they are great.

Thanks, I managed to pick up (at the end of season, oh well) a set of Eurox carbons for a great price. Plus they will look great on the carbon bike :)
Every review that I found was very positive for the Eurox canti's so that's the direction I went. Just lucked out on the carbons.
I try not brake that much...

I believe the 2010 models

why are you guys concerned
why are you guys concerned so much about braking
my advice is to avoid braking and just run over stuff and hope for the best
and the base trp's are fine but the spooky has a better spring and you really notice the difference
toe in is for old people at the pool

Your work is never done.
Thanks, I managed to pick up
