BEER

In order to sell liquor at the UCI race at Centennial Park, all servers need to have Smart Server training. At this point, it's a show-stopper - for the beer tent anyways. Does anyone have any experience with getting liquor permits in Toronto - and more particularly, does anyone know anyone with Smart Serve training that could be willing to help out.

You have to apply at least 30 days in advance of the event for an outdoor event. So I think we are too late for this year.

I have some experience with this type of event so let me know if I can be of any help.

Scott had a beer vender at

Scott had a beer vender at hardwood a few years back for nationals, I'm not sure if that was in co-operation with hardwood or not, but he may know.

I know someone with Smart

I know someone with Smart Serve cert. and would be willing to bartend, the only catch is, that she's racing the Elite women's race.
However, she does say it is not hard to get smart serve cert'd, Check your local pub, someone might be able to put in a shift or two... or better yet! see if a pub might be willing to pony up a bartender and a keg or three!

The Thistletown Lions will

The Thistletown Lions will be running the beer tents serving Amsterdam draft beer. the profits are being split between their youth programs and Midweek's youth programs. I'm told there is no problem with getting a permit for within the park in the time left. The Lions could use some serve-smart certified help. If you can help even for an hour or two please let me know.
Craig of Midweek
