That was a great course, thankyou. I liked the duck crossing obstacle too. Who hired them? Thanks to Briana for the awesome cupcakes. Thanks to Craig and Midweek for putting on the event.
The age old question is how do you put on a non competitive race. Maybe we need some random stop and go penalties for acts of excessive competitiveness. Simply by leading the race you have to stop and eat a cupcake or two and proceed only when five riders have gone past.
Great race, and great day for a race. Big thanks to Craig and Midweek, Darko and Rod for course design and set up, Dave and Prisca for the primes, Eva for handing them out, and everyone who came out to cheer.
That was the perfect way to end the year. The course was perfect for everyone that just wanted to take it easy but still had some sketchy sections with the ice to keep us on our toes. The cupcakes and "dollar girls" were a nice fun addition. As for toning down the competitiveness of the race i recomend shotguning a beer every lap and trying not to puke or crash. Great race, it was also nice to met my evil twin Wes as well. Looking forward to next year.
Perhaps the ducks can be trained to give a beer and a cupcake to anyone deemed to be trying to hard? Or we could copy the single speed worlds where I believe you were allowed a short-cut for drinking a shot of tequila. Not sure I would want tequila mid-race but a shot of whiskey would have been nice yesterday. Regardless it was a good end to another good year of racing.
I love the idea of random penalties. Perhaps we could have random placed primes as well, "on this lap the 13th placed rider will win" or something like that.
The race was tons of fun and funny how beer always tastes better after a race. Hope to see the race next year.
Awesome time today.. that
