Ship bike from USA?
Does anyone have any experience shipping a complete bike from the USA to Canada? I've been trying to track down a discontinued model of a bike, and I finally found a shop in the USA that still has some stock in my size. Unfortunately I don't know what the best method for getting it to me is. I recently got dinged with a >50% COD charge from UPS on some goods from SWOBO in the USA, so I'm somewhat cautious about what method I use to order something significantly more expensive.
I generally try and buy locally, but unfortunately I haven't been able to track down any stock of this bike anywhere else.
I'd be willing to drive to Buffalo if I could somehow find a way of just getting it delivered there, but the shop is in Minneapolis, so driving all the way there is a little out of the question. :)
Any help would be appreciated!
cheers,
Wes

You can also have it shipped
You can also have it shipped to a UPS store.
Do yourself a favor though and buy a box that way the staff will store it separately from all the other stuff that gets sent.
Makes it easier to find ... the ones near the border get really busy/full.

Thanks for the advice guys.
Thanks for the advice guys. Look like I might actually have found a friend of a friend who lives in Buffalo. I imagine I'll save myself some money just by nipping down and picking it up myself.
Nathan (assuming you're Nathan Chown), you must bring bikes across the border somewhat frequently since you ride for a shop based on the other side of the border (if I'm not mistaken). Do I have anything to worry about? :)
Feel free to contact me directly if you have any specific tips/ advice (wes at wesleyhodgson dot com).
Cheers,
