USGP
USGP Kentucky and New Jersey.
Lets start with the drive. Myself, Lorne and Safka on our way to Kentucky. Tjis is now the official road kill route. More splattered deer then anyone wants to see in one day, aleast 20.
We arrived in Kentucky before dark and looked over the course, Lorne said we are preriding so back to the hotel to change ( which is right across the road ). We rode the course a few times and it was fast. No wind and hard ground.
The course had 4 sand traps being that it is an old golf course. 2 were nothing but the other 2, first one was a nasty little soft bike grabber and the second one was long with many lines. lots of crashes in both.
I was warming up on Saturday when I went through the first nasty sand trap I tried a new line and went right over the bars. I guy was there laughing at me. I looked over and saw Lorne in the pit but he did not see me. Whew. He told me later that he did the same thing.
Saturday race:
Had a great start on the road, went from the 6th row to 6th place by the third corner. I was riding easy and thought this is great I don't have to kill myself.
First Nasty sand trap a guy from Michigan crashed in front of me send me into the meshing. Pedal got stuck and I could no get it out. 30 poeple or so passed me.
I made back up to 19th but I had to go like hell to do it. Legs cramped on the second last lap and I had to totally stop for like a minute and only I guy passed me.
Finsihed 19th and got 2 whole points.
Back to the hotel for a shower and time to watch Lorne race.
Lornes race was fast (Killer Bees). I will get him to add some stuff here.
Sunday Race
The course was changed very little as that is what they do for ease of operation.
